Binding Services

Parson's primary inborn ability, classified by IRIS as 'emulsification' and by most people around Enodia Station as 'getting hitched', allows him to create a temporary link between two living things (human, animal, plant, or other). While linked, the two parties share a telepathic and empathic bond. If they are Liminal, they are also able to share powers, and, in some instances, may blend their powers into whole new abilities.

For everyone's safety, Parson has a few rules about who he'll hitch and when:

  • Unless it's an emergency situation, Parson requires the signing of a waiver (for you) and an optional NDA (for him). He does not want to be responsible if you do something stupid while hitched, and you do not want him gossiping to everyone on the planet about who he hitched you to while you were drunk, horny, and happened to have a fifty in your wallet.

  • Parson will not hitch two people without the expressed, enthusiastic consent of both parties.

  • He will not hitch animals that appear to be in distress (unless it's to help save them), and unless it's directly ordered by a superior, he will not hitch people to animals or plants with unknown Liminal qualities.

  • Explorers geraing up for a mission in the field can get hitched for up to three hours, no questions asked.

  • Parson is willing to assist researchers with bindings lasting up to four hours for official research purposes. He does ask to be compensated for his time on this.

  • If you're just trying to do horny romo stuff or whatever, he'll hitch you for 10 minutes for 50 bucks.

  • Other uses are case-by-case, and he will not create a link without getting the details of what you plan on getting up to.

Some notes on power sharing:

  • Linked Liminals will, at minimum, share their powers. However, skill with said powers is not also conferred.

  • While a shared power will remain the same for its original owner, the hitched partner will receive a weakened version. What form this takes depends on the powers shared. They could have decreased reach, duration, or overall effect.

  • Similar powers, familiarity with a power, or familiarity with a person, can influence strength of a shared power.

  • In some instances, hitched powers will blend, creating whole new abilities. Similar powers and strong personal bonds will increase the likelihood of powers blending, but this can also happen at random, too.

How well powers work when hitched is entirely up to player discretion. If you plan on using this for a leg up in a plot event, please consult the mod or the person running the event. If you would like to leave this up to RNG, here are some dice rolls you can use:

  • For general aptitude: Roll 1d20 at either disadvantage (if powers are vastly different or this is the first time you're hitching someone) or advantage (if powers are similar, if you've shared powers before, or if you're familiar with each other's abilities) to see how well your character handles their new power.

  • For power blending: Roll 1d100. If you roll between 45 and 55, the powers blend; you can increase this range if your characters have a strong bond. On a 1 or 100, the powers blend either in an unwieldy way (on a 1) or a harmonious way (100).

PLEASE COMMENT BELOW if you would like to have Parson hitch your character to someone else's. Remember, Getting Hitched includes a telepathic and empathic link, and Parson will not hitch two people for longer than five hours max unless it's an absolute emergency situation.
